BROWSE WITH A BLACKBERRY PLAN ON YOUR ANDROID PHONES!

The fun of using and android device is not complete without internet subscription, Network Providers data plans are quite expensive for the average Nigerians and the hunt for cheap internet plan is always on the rise.  I am going to share with you guys how you can browse on your android device using the blackberry 1k for 3GB BIS plan.

NOTE: This trick does not work on Samsung devices thou. Because it’s not yet stable on Samsung devices as of late.

STEP ONE: USING A BLACKBERRY TO CONFIGURE THE GLO LINE THEN PLACE IT ON YOUR ANDROID

This trick involves your bb to be set on 3G mode

1. Subscribe for the plan by sending Comonth to 777, wait for some few seconds you would receive a text message saying you have 3072mb of data.

To check your data balance: dial *777*0#

2. Browse on the blackberry for 5 minutes, download and surf the net.

3. Switch off the blackberry and remove the sim.

4. Insert the sim on your android device and configure your android by creating a new APN using Blackberry.net.

5. Activate by switching on your data connection. (H won’t show yet)

6. Switch off your android and remove the sim to be placed on your blackberry. Note: still keep the setting on your android on blackberry.net.

7. Insert the sim back on your blackberry while making sure it is still on 3G mode and blackberry sign. Browse and download.

8. Now return the sim back to your android and you would see the H sign and keep browsing. Now you have successfully configured your android.

NOTE: You can used blackberryx.net if blackberry.net does’nt work for you.

STEP TWO: USING A BLACKBERRY IMEI ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE

This method is quite risky and could brick your android device, it involves injecting a blackberry imei number to the android device whereby turning the android device to a blackberry device internally. Also allowing the android device to use blackberry services.

16 Good Tips To Boost Your Android Phone's Battery Life.

We are very well aware about the reaching heights of Android technology. On an average a smart phone must undeniably work for almost a day or more. This is not the case with Android OS based phones; just a major issue which is a kind of black hole on the brand is the battery. Many Android experts have made it their goal to find the best way to conserve the phone’s battery. Presently, what the Android users can do is: trim down and get rid of the stuffs that are all together posing threat to the battery life. Traverse through the tips below and do apply it today itself!

A number of factors have conspired to reduce gadget endurance over the past several years. Thinner designs with less room for batteries, larger and brighter screens, faster quad-core processors, more software that runs in the background, and power-hungry GPS radios all share responsibility. The move from 3G to 4G networks a few years ago—particularly of the LTE variety—has also taken its toll.
But there's much more to poor battery life results than that. Fortunately, there's plenty you can do to stem the flow of juice from your Android device. To write this article, I used a Google Nexus 5, as it's running the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat with no extra interface enhancements, but these tips should apply across just about any Android phone. Try these tips to extend your handset's battery life:

1. See what's sucking the most juice

Navigate to Settings > Battery to see an organized breakdown of what's consuming your phone's battery. Applications and features will display in a descending list of battery hogs. If you see an application you barely use or a feature you never use, you'll want to uninstall the app or turn off the feature.

2. Reduce email, Twitter, and Facebook polling

Set your various messaging apps to "manual" for the polling or refresh frequency, just as a test, and you'll instantly extend your device's battery life by a significant amount. Once you see what a difference that makes, try re-enabling just the most important ones, and possibly reducing their polling frequency in the process.

3. Turn unnecessary hardware radios off

It's great that today's phones have LTE, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, but do you really need all five activated 24 hours per day? Android keeps location-based apps resident in the background, and the constant drain on your battery will become noticeable, fast. If your phone has a power control widget, you can use it to quickly turn on/off GPS (the largest power drain), NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE. On stock Android, swipe down to bring up the Notification bar, and then tap the icon on the top right corner.

4. Use the extra power saving mode if you have it

The aforementioned Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) both have Ultra Power Saving and Extreme Power Saving modes, respectively, that limits the phone to texting, phone calls, Web browsing, and Facebook. This can squeeze extra hours or even a day of standby time out of just a few remaining percentage points of battery.

5. Trim apps running in the background

From Settings > Apps, swipe to the left; you'll see a list of apps that are currently running. Tap on each one to see what they're for; you can stop any apps that you don't need running in the background all of the time.

6. Dump unnecessary home screen widgets and live wallpaper

Just because they're sitting on the home screen, seemingly inactive, doesn't mean they're not consuming power. This goes for widgets that poll status updates in the background, as well as ones that just sit there but look pretty and animated—not to mention animated live wallpaper. (But don't dump everything, as part of what makes Android great are the home screen customizations; just remove the ones you don't use.)

7. Turn down the brightness and turn off Automatic Brightness.

It's probably obvious at this point, but you'll be surprised by how much this one alone helps to improve battery life.

8. Update your apps

Applications often get updated to use less battery power, so you should make sure your apps are up to date. Even if you configured the phone for automatic updates, some apps still require that you manually install updates. Check for app updates in Google Play by hitting the menu key and going to My Apps.

9. Keep an eye on signal strength

If you're in an area with poor cellular coverage, the phone will work harder to latch onto a strong-enough signal. This has an adverse effect on battery life. There's not much you can do about this one, but keep in mind that this could be the culprit behind a seemingly weak battery; it's worth popping the phone into Airplane mode if you don't need data or voice calls.

10. Check the reviews

We conduct battery life tests on every single Android phone we review. Unsurprisingly, the results vary widely between handsets, even on the same network. When choosing a phone, make sure that real world talk time is sufficient. You can't go by what the manufacturer says; we see variances on the order of several hours of usage in both directions on a regular basis.

11. Buy a battery case or larger extended battery

Battery cases combine a hardware enclosure, which protects your phone, with an extended battery that can double your phone's endurance. You can find models compatible with popular Android phones from a variety of manufacturers (both for the Samsung Galaxy S4).

12. Turn Down the GPS Location

GPS is considered to be one of the biggest battery sucking features of android phones. Moreover, a lot of other applications use the GPS as well. You can change the GPS to use wireless networks and uncheck the option for use GPS satellites which will make it work a little less accurate, but will undoubtedly save the battery. Additionally, you should turn off the geolocation features in your Twitter client, weather application, etc.

13. Multitasking

Multitasking is one of the striking features in Android phones. Each application takes up some amount of power depending on its function. Keep a practice of periodically ensuring that you don’t have apps running in the background when you don’t need them. By getting into the settings menu, you can see which apps are currently running and how much processing power they consume. You then have to shut down the applications not in use or ones that are eating up battery life, by tapping the ‘stop’ button of the respective app. In case you wish to remove the app entirely, move to Settings -> Applications Manage Applications and then you can click the Uninstall button for an app.

14. Manage Sync

Disabling auto-sync even can greatly contribute in extending the battery life. Managing the account sync manually is a much better option. Many social apps like Facebook and Twitter let themselves into your auto-sync preferences. Another way to save some power is to make your built-in mail app check less frequently. Checking for new messages every 15 to 30 minutes makes it power hungry. Let it get manually updated or increase the time. The built-in Email application (not the Gmail that uses Push technology) can suck the battery in huge amount because it syncs on a too-regular basis, especially when you have lots of accounts. The same thing holds true for other accounts, like Twitter clients, which are even less important to update all the time. The Facebook application polls automatically in the background and you can customize the refresh interval for that as well. From the main Facebook screen—the one with the icons—head into Settings –> Refresh interval from the menu.

16. Turn off Wi-Fi When Not in Facilitation

Facilitating a speedy flow of access to data, the enabled Wi-Fi will try and scan for a wireless network even though you may not need it. You can easily switch the Wi-Fi on or off with the built-in widget or shortcut. Instead of always turning the Wi-Fi on or off, the best option to quickly get rid of this is to enable Airplane/Flight mode for which you need to head into Settings -> Wireless and networks -> Airplane mode. Also, you can toggle this with a long press of the power button. Switching to this mode will automatically disable the Wi-Fi.

Conclusion

Yet there are few minor issues to be taken into account. Enabling Haptic feedback features (vibrate & tone on user actions) won’t do any good to the battery. It’s desirable to avoid its usage. In fact, what makes the difference is the user-specific phone usage behavior like not switching off Wi-Fi/GPS/data when done, installing unnecessary apps, etc. This varies from person to person and ultimately goes into the user’s hand as to how it must be managed to keep the battery life healthy. Well, there’s nothing much to say beyond this. Just remember the basic principle: discard all the fancy stuffs that are actually not in use. The entity above will definitely improve and extend your phone’s battery life. Some additional tips from the readers will be appreciated. Share with us through comments below. Stay connected!
